Literature provides a comprehensive study of a wide spectrum of knowledge ranging from Aesthetics to Politics. Being a reservoir of creativity, it makes the students competent and sensitive enough to the modern world. Through extensive reading and writing, students develop their skills of analysis, interpretation and self-expression. The syllabus provides a thorough introduction to essential literary genres (novels, poems, plays, non-fiction) and a study of great canonical works and authors.
An undergraduate degree in English Literature also promises various job opportunities like Proofreading, Editing, Reporting, Content Writing, Script Writing, Communication Training etc. The student can also opt to continue her MA and Research programmes in Literature.
