One day international workshop on “Web Designing Made Simple” was held on 21st September 2016 in CSI Ewart Women’s Christian College organised by Department of Computer Science. The objective of this Workshop is to provide a forum for students to understand the principles of creating an effective web page and learn how to implement these theories into practice. The Staff and Students of different colleges participated in the Workshop. The Workshop was Commenced by Lighting of kuthuvilazhu. Dr.Samuel Cornelius, College Secretary welcomed the gathering. Our Principal Dr.Marthal Nalini gave felicitation. Mrs.S.Florence Vijila, Head, Department of Computer Science gave the overview of Workshop. Mr.Anderson Joseph Barnabas , Sr.Campaign Analyst, Scottrade Inc. St.Louis, Missouri, USA delivered the key note address on “Problem solving skills and techniques”. Mrs.Kathryn Barnabas, Graphics Designer & Communication Director,Morning Star Church & United Methodist Church ,St.Louis,Missouri, USA gave special address. Mrs.J.Jennifer, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science gave vote of thanks.
Session I was headed by Mrs.Johanna Jansi Rani, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Madras Christian College, Tambaram. The topic for the session was”Introduction to Web Designing Made Simple”. This session was filled with the topics History, Basic terminologies, Principles and good design of a webpage. The Expert of Session II was Mr.Arun Prashanth, Software Engineer,Ameex Technologies, Chennai. The gathering was divided in groups and was given hand-on training in web designing tools like Drupal and Word Press. The topic of the Session III was “Soft skill needed to survive in the industry”. Miss.Femina Sheeba, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Madras Christian College, Tambaram enabled the students with an extensive learning of the communication concepts and professional skills that will help to enter into the high opportunity in IT Sector.
Mrs.Johanna Jansi Rani, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Madras Christian College, Tambaram gave the Valedictory Address and the Workshop ended successfully with the National Anthem.
