ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

CSI Ewart Women’s Christian College organized an orientation programme for the academic year 2016 at the College Auditorium from 1st July 2016 to 12th July 2015. The major objective of the programme was to make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the College and ensuring parental participation in monitoring the performance and progress of the students.

On 1st July 2016 our Principal Dr. Marthal Nalini, addressed the students and parents.

On 4th July 2016 Dr.Mekala Rajan, Associate Professor, Department of English, Madras Christian College took the first session on a topic “Spoken English” for the Students.

On 5th July 2016 Dr.Rennet Samson , Associate Professor, Department of English, Ethiraj College for Women & Selvi.M.Latha Kumari,Assistant Profressor, Department of English, Ethiraj College for Women took sessions on the topic ”Bridge Course”.

On 6th July 2016 Mrs.Marilyn Gracy Augustina, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Madras Christian College emphasized the need of Value Education to show students the moral path ;In the afternoon session Dr.R.Sheeba Davidson, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Madras Christian College spoke on the topic “Personality Development” to inspire and motivate the students for developing their confidence and communication skills.

On 7th July 2016 Mrs.Cinthia Jude, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Tourism and Travel Management, Ethiraj College for Women spoke on the topic “Women & Health” which mainly deals with the optimal health and healthcare to adolescent girls and women. Mrs.Deepthi Sukumar, National Board Member, YWCA took session about “Women’s Higher Education & Development” which focused its discussions on leadership, which train the women students to pursue higher education.

College faculties from various departments took sessions for the freshers on different topics related to academics, student’s life and social behavior and the orientation programme came to an end successfully on 12th July 2016 with a food sale.
